The laboratory internal audit
What would an audit of your laboratory say today? The internal audit that accreditation requires, conducted by a DaSP auditor with the support of our agents. You receive the audit report and the process map.
Loading a rack of samples
Not sure where to start? The laboratory internal audit gives you the audit report and the process map. It is worth €600: for the time being we offer it free of charge.
Every accredited laboratory must carry out an internal audit at least once a year, and almost all prefer someone from outside to conduct it. While there, the auditor maps the system, finds the critical processes and writes down where an agent or the LIMS could come in: the process map.
- An audit report with findings, observations and an action plan, usable in the quality system
- The process map: where time is lost, where the risk lies, where it pays to act first
- Report and map stay with the laboratory, whatever it decides afterwards
How it works: five phases
A call, one day in the laboratory, a joint reading. The rest is done by DaSP, with the support of our agents; the auditor verifies and signs.
The request
Fill in the form at the bottom of the page. We will contact you to arrange a call and to understand who, in the laboratory, it makes sense to involve.
The audit plan
In a call with management and the quality manager, the scope, the requirements to be verified and the documents to be prepared are agreed.
The audit in the laboratory
One day, on site: records, test reports, calibration, staff. With the people who do the work every day, not only with those who direct it.
The audit report
Findings and observations with the reference to the requirements, the evidence collected, the strengths. It is read together.
The process map
Where it pays to act first and why: time lost, risks, processes where an agent or the LIMS could come in. It stays with the laboratory, whatever you decide afterwards.
What you receive
Where your quality system holds, and where it does not: in writing, with the evidence.
The audit report
Findings, observations and an action plan with the reference to the requirements and the evidence collected: a quality system record, ready for the management review and for the assessment.
The process map
The laboratory’s processes with the time they cost and the risk they carry, ordered along the journey: analyze, manage, automate, grow, foundations. Each entry says what, why and in what order.
A joint review
Report and map are read with you, so that priorities are shared before any proposal.
What it costs
The laboratory internal audit is worth €600. For the time being we offer it free of charge, until the end of the initiative.
Who it is for
For accredited testing laboratories and medical laboratories, or those seeking accreditation, ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 15189: the internal audit is a requirement for all, and almost all entrust it to someone from outside.
- The quality manager who has to close this year’s internal audit, or has an assessment coming up.
- Management that wants to understand where to start before investing.
- The technical manager with nonconformities that come back or instruments that perform less than they could.
Who it is not for
- For those who have already chosen a product and only want a quotation: in that case you talk directly to a specialist.
- For those looking for a certification audit or an assessment by the accreditation body: the internal audit is neither, and does not replace them.
The questions we get asked
Free: where is the catch?
There is none. The internal audit is the way DaSP gets to know a laboratory before proposing anything. The report and the map stay yours, even if we do not end up working together.
How much of our time does it take?
A call for the audit plan, one day in the laboratory with the people who do the work, the joint reading of the report. The rest is done by DaSP.
Will we have to show our data?
What an internal audit looks at: records, test reports, calibration, staff qualifications. No data leaves the laboratory and the report is yours.
Does it count as an internal audit for the accreditation body?
Yes: it is the internal audit the standard asks of you, with plan, report, findings and action plan. It is not a certification audit.
And if the report says everything is fine?
It happens, and we write it down: an audit without findings is still a quality system record. The process map can also say “not now”.
The internal audit is the door to the DASP Lab Advisory practice: outsourcing and training for the laboratory.
